It’s shaping up to be a great weekend in London, with a number of exciting festivals taking place, and a fairly good weather forecast to boot!

Feast at Battersea Park

For the picnic experience of a lifetime, come down to Battersea Park this weekend from 11am to 9pm! There will be a fantastic selection of restaurant, street and artisan food available at this outdoor feast. In addition, there will also be offerings from Boqueria, Supper Club, Mazi and Mango Tree, in the form of pop-up restaurants. Along with live music, cooking classes and a large enclosed beach, Feast at Battersea Park promises to be a real treat.

The Luna Cinema

Battersea Park seems to be the centre of attention this week, with the Luna Cinema presenting outdoor screenings of The Goonies on Saturday night, and Top Gun on Sunday night. Both films begin at 8:15pm, with doors opening at 7pm. There will be hot food on sale, as well as beverages from a well-stocked bar. Do remember to bring cushions or a blanket, however.

Battersea Arts Centre

The Battersea Arts Centre will be hosting more previews of shows that will be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later this month. This weekend, you can catch a showing of Homer’s “Odyssey”, as reinterpreted by The Paper Cinema. This epic story of one man’s journey to return home is told through puppetry, cinematic projections and gorgeous illustrations. Performances begin at 2.20pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with tickets costing £14.

Eagle Ale House

The Caribburton Summer Cookout will take place this Saturday at the Eagle Ale House, located off Northcote Road. The delicious Caribbean buffet includes jerk chicken, spicy barbeque pork, Jamaican rice and peas, and fried dumplings. There will also be a dessert buffet, in case you weren’t already tempted. The event will begin at 6pm, with tickets costing £12.50 per person at the door.
