Elegant rows of Cubitt houses. In 1843, the architect Thomas Cubitt set out to develop what he called ‘South Belgravia’ with large elegant homes set around leafy garden squares. After years of dereliction, these houses have been restored and boast some of the area’s finest architecture - from Moreton Square to Pimlico Green.
Your future neighbours. The area remains popular with young professionals working in the City. However, due to its close proximity to the Westminster Parliamentary scene, many prominent politicos and barristers have also chosen to call St James’s Park, Pimlico and Victoria home. You never know who you might bump into on their morning jog along the River Thames, or cycling across Vauxhall Bridge.
The Tate Britain. There is no shortage of culture in SW1: the most impressive example being the iconic Tate Britain. The gallery houses an impressive collection of British art from 1500 to today. There are also regular events, film screenings and talks, as well as the annual Turner Prize exhibition.
Eating, drinking and shopping. Pimlico and Victoria has seen much gentrification over the years, which has ushered in a new wave of fashionable bars, high-end restaurants and boutique shopping. Some of our favourites include The Orange by Pimlico Green and Cacio e Pepe on Churton Street, opened by a MasterChef Italia finalist. Cardinal Place in Victoria offers all the shopping you need, from Marks & Spencers to Space NK, Specsavers and Little Waitrose.
Belgravia of the South. Pimlico is an affordable alternative to buying in Chelsea or Belgravia and offers incredible value for money. Residents enjoy the area’s grand garden squares, and high quality of living as well as excellent London Underground and Overground transport links (from Pimlico or London Victoria Stations to Westminster, the West End and the City).
St. James’s Park. The area around St. James’s Park Underground is perfectly positioned for working and going out in the West End. It has become more and more popular with those who prefer a walkable urban lifestyle, and wish to trade in their stressful morning commutes for leisurely strolls through Green Park.
