I was very happy with my estate agent Daren Haysom and would wholeheartedly recommend him. This was a difficult house to sell so I was willing to select the best agent (and I interviewed a lot of agents), even though the commission was higher than some high street agents. Daren is very experienced, as well as direct, genuine and empathetic — I knew these traits would be useful for handholding both me (as the vendor) and the prospective buyer through the house buying/selling process. He was also very responsive and proactive with answering questions, managing my expectations and providing updates, even outside of hours. The most valuable thing about Daren as an agent was that he helped and oversaw all aspects of house selling process- eg, my solicitors were not great, and Daren stepped up and helped me answer several questions the buyers’ solicitors raised. This required research of my grade II listed house and conservation area, and knowledge and experience with the council / listing rules.
