We Love Local: The Exhibit

Share

Tell us a little bit about The Exhibit.

We are London's smallest independent cinema. We also have our main bar downstairs, as well as a 50s American Diner and function rooms. We're located in the heart of Balham.

When and how did The Exhibit first begin?

The Exhibit has been in Balham for over 14 years. It was opened by two brothers, who still own the venue, initially as a bar and restaurant and has grown, adapted and become what we are now.

What do you think makes The Exhibit unique?

Our wonderful boutique cinema, our secret side garden and 50s diner are all pretty special and visual feasts, as well as what they offer customers.

What do you love most about working there?

I love that I can walk to work each morning and be a part of a really well established independent venue.

What kind of atmosphere can patrons expect to find when visiting?

A warm welcome, friendly smile and homemade food and drinks that we've worked hard on to make our own.

What kind of food is served at The Exhibit?

We have a wonderful 50ss diner menu chock full of wings, ribs, hotdogs and burgers, and a great brunch menu available on weekends. Our diner and movie deal is very popular with a burger, fries, shakes and your film ticket for £16.90 each.

At Douglas & Gordon, we love local. Why do you love Balham?

It's a fun, vibrant area, with friendly locals and plenty of independent business to choose from. Personally, I like Tooting Bec Common in the summer, it's right opposite my flat. The Nightingale Café is great and the Delight Bakery is pretty special too.

We love being a venue that locals like to go to and if they ever want to have a chat about putting on events or want ask what we do, we're always happy to sit down over a drink and have a chin wag.

The Exhibit is collaborating with Douglas & Gordon to celebrate the love of all things local and is kindly giving away a pair of dinner and movie tickets, worth £16.90 each, to one lucky winner.
