Share

We here at Douglas & Gordon hope that you all have a lovely relaxing weekend! After the rather warm temperatures and the royal baby frenzy, you deserve some time off. Here’s our round-up of all the events taking place in your area.

The Piazza

Come on down to the Little Market at the Piazza in Wimbledon today and tomorrow to experience delicious foods such as Arabian specialities, handmade chocolates, traditional hog roasts and freshly baked breads. You can also spend time exploring the gift and jewellery stalls, featuring a range of handmade items and accessories. The market will be open from 11am to 6pm both days.

Wimbledon Farmer’s Market

The Wimbledon Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday from 9am to 1pm at Wimbledon Park Primary School. The market has around 20 stalls, and features products from Chegworth Valley Juices, Bath Soft Cheese Company, Celtic Bakeries, Grange Nurseries, Harvest Moon Free Range Eggs, The Culinary Herb Company, Wild Country Organics, and many more. For fresh produce and flowers, a wide range of meat and dairy products, and divine treats, do come down to Wimbledon tomorrow!

Wimbledon Common

RunThrough’s first half marathon will take place this Sunday in Wimbledon Common. The race begins at 9am, and the picturesque route will be marked out with signs counting down the miles. There will be free refreshments, massages and t-shirts for all those who finish the race. Even if you’re not participating, you can still go and cheer on the runners at the start and finish line.

The Funny Side of Earlsfield

If you’re in the mood for some fun and laughter, then look no further than “The Funny Side of Earlsfield”, a comedy show taking place this Saturday night at the Tara Arts theatre. The performance, which brings together the best of TV, radio and stand-up comedy, begins at 8pm. If you have children to entertain, however, the theatre will also be hosting “The Bollywood Punjeet & Judy-gee Show”, a thirty minute show aimed at a younger audience. There will be 3 performances on Saturday, at 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm.

Perseid Upper School

Friends of Perseid School will be holding a charity car boot sale this Sunday at the school, which is located in Middleton Road. The sale will run from 11am to 3pm. The school caters for students who have severe learning difficulties, so do show your support for this worthy cause.

Fulham Palace

Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, As You Like It, will be performed tonight on the lawns of Fulham Palace at 7pm. The play involves four people who each find their soulmates in the Forest of Arden, and details the cynicism, political intrigue and multiple disguises that follow. Bring along some cushions or a blanket, and enjoy the re-enactment of a classic underneath the stars. Adults pay £12, whilst children cost £8.
