Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where did you grow up? Whereabouts do you live now?

I grew up in Gloucestershire, went to school in Bromsgrove and started as an agent in Oxford. I moved to London eight years ago and now live in a lovely leafy part of London called Brook Green.

How long have you been an estate agent for?

It feels like a very long time. I have been in property for 12 years.

How long have you worked for D&G? What’s the greatest thing about working for them?

I started working for D&G in 2009, the day after my birthday, so it’s always a memorable anniversary! Having worked for three large firms in the past, I love the family feel you experience working here. Everyone knows everyone which makes the parties very fun.

When you’re not in the office or showing people around, what do you do in your spare time? Any interesting hobbies we should know about?

I love property and interior design, so when I have some spare time I decide to totally redecorate my flat. I have also recently joined a super cool gym in Kensington called Equinox so I’m currently completely hooked. I love shopping and also love going away when I get the chance.

What questions do you most commonly get asked by clients/customers?

Is Mansion Tax coming in or not?

What advice do you have for people looking to buy or rent in Kensington?

Act fast; good property does not stay available for long. Also trust your instinct; you know when a property feels right for you.

What do you love about Kensington? What are your favourite hangouts? Where do you grab your coffee in the morning, or take a business lunch?

Kensington has so many lovely places. I walk a lot in Kensington Gardens (mainly for my dog’s benefit). I highly recommend Portobello Pizzeria which is just off Notting Hill Gate, I love the soya hot chocolate from Pret and for after work drinks, The Churchill wins me over because of their constantly amazing flowers or decorations outside. For flowers – John and Jessie’s florist on Peel Street is lovely.

What would you say to anyone looking to move into the area?

Walk around and get to know the area. Kensington has some amazing addresses so choose the best road you can and enjoy the fantastic transport links!

If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about the property market, what would it be?

I would bring in the Scottish system where once you have agreed to buy a property – you have to follow through with it.
