Regents Park

If you have children to entertain these holidays, then do take them to a performance of “Dinosaur Zoo” at Regents Park. The show provides an entertaining and educational glimpse into the world of these prehistoric giants. This weekend’s performances take place at 9.45am and 11.30am.

Garrick Theatre

“Horrible Histories” is currently running at the Garrick Theatre until 1 September. According to the synopsis, you should “Come to loathsome London, where you can enrol in a Georgian Crime School, dare to dance the Tyburn jig and find out what a baby farmer did...”. For a hilarious history lesson, make sure to book your tickets before the show run ends!

Duke of York’s Theatre

For a further theatrical fix, Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” has just begun a 12 week run at the Duke of York’s theatre. The play emerged as a critical response to 19th century marriage laws, involving a middle-class housewife who leaves her husband and children in order to discover herself. First acted out in December 1879, “A Doll’s House” has gone on to become one of the most performed plays in the world.

The Wandering Chef

The second of the Grub Club’s Wandering Chef movie-themed food evenings takes place this Saturday, on the 28th floor of the Millbank Tower. Saturday’s event is appropriately titled “Fried and Loathing in Las Vegas” – you can guess what movie you’ll be watching! On the menu, meanwhile, are rainbow burgers and chips, Portobello mushroom burgers for the vegetarians, and spicy fried chicken with rainbow su.

Royal Opera House

The prestigious Bolshoi Ballet will be launching their Golden Jubilee season at the Royal Opera House with “Swan Lake”, which will run from the 10th to the 15th of August. “Swan Lake” is a timeless and much-loved ballet classic, set to the music of Tchaikovsky. Don’t miss out!

There will be Latin and ballroom dancing on Saturday, with the Argentinean tango being demonstrated and danced on Sunday.  Come along, bring friends or a dance partner, and wear you dancing shoes!
