We Love Local: Park Road Kitchen

Tell us a little bit about Park Road Kitchen.

Park Road Kitchen is a Rotisserie and Deli on Battersea Park Road providing good food to go, or sit in.  It was started by Sam Mousawi, an entrepreneur and food enthusiast, and Santo Natolli who was previously a private chef to Harrods proprietor Mohammed Al Fayed and Scotts restaurant in Mayfair.

Living local to the area, we felt there was nothing around that offered good value for healthy, prepared food to take away on those late nights home from work, or when all the family come around for lunch on the weekend. Spit roasted farm fresh chicken, bread baguettes and fresh salads were not available anywhere in the SW11 area so we decided to make our mark and opened on March 6th2014.

Besides there being nothing else like it around, good food and good service is our priority. Our open kitchen gives customers a look in to where all our dishes are made. You can see that everything is fresh and hand prepared.

What do you enjoy most about working there?

PRK is staffed mostly by its owners, which enables us to develop relationships with our regulars and take on board their feedback.  We are passionate about getting to know our customers. We also have the greatest neighbours - we all support each other.

What kind of food will you find on your menu?

Our marinated rotisserie chickens and roast potatoes are consistent, but the deli counter menu changes every so often to keep our customers excited about new dishes to try. You can find lentils, kale and green beans to go with our chunky fish cakes, stuffed tomatoes with feta cheese and capers or mackerel with teriyaki sauce, which goes really well with our roasted broccoli and chilli.  We also have delicious Sicilian olives and home baked treats.

The most popular dish would be our roasted root vegetables in mild honey mustard dressing. Personally though, our favourite dishes have to be our slow cooked lamb and also our meatballs in tomato sauce - they are a family recipe!

Do you have any particularly memorable moments from your time at Park Road Kitchen?

The energy, excitement and rush of our opening day is by far, and will always be, our most memorable moment for PRK!

What kind of atmosphere can patrons expect when visiting Park Road Kitchen?

It's a really laid back atmosphere of exposed brick, old reclaimed wood and metro tiles. We can accommodate those in a rush and also those who have come to sit in and catch up with friends over lunch. We also have Wi-Fi and welcome dogs.

Do you have any special deals we should know about?

We tweet about all our new specials. At the moment we have a popular Caesar salad lunch special on Wednesday and a crispy pork belly and slaw on Friday. Stay tuned for more to come - we are always thinking of new food trends.

At Douglas & Gordon, we love local. Why do you love Battersea?

We love Battersea because it’s home. It also happens to be the most exciting and developing neighbourhood to live and socialise in in London.

We love the Lighthouse Pub, Battersea Flower Station Garden Centre, Caffetino coffee shop, Battersea square and of course the beautiful Battersea Park, which is the perfect place for a PRK picnic!

Park Road Kitchen is collaborating with Douglas & Gordon for the love of all things local. To find out more about their fantastic deals and new dishes, follow them on Twitter or Instagram @parkroadkitchen.
