It’s Friday! Which means it’s time for our weekly event guides, detailing all the exciting events taking place in your area over the weekend.

Le QuecumBar

Le QuecumBar will be hosting a special music and dance evening this Sunday, with the Cordes du Roi Quartet performing at the venue. From swing jazz to ballads, visitors are in for a treat! Doors open at 6pm, and food will be served until 10pm.  

The Bedford

If you’re in the mood for some laughter, then do head on over to The Bedford in Balham for their Banana Cabaret comedy evenings. This weekend’s line-up includes Carl Donnelly, Mitch Benn, Andre Vincent and Ian Moore. Doors open at 7.30pm, and the shows begin at 9pm.

Battersea Park

There will be a ten mile Self-Transcendence Race taking place at Battersea Park on Saturday, presented by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon team. The race begins at 8am, and there will be water stations offering refreshments for runners.  Runners of all fitness levels are welcome to participate.

Battersea Evolution

The Independent Schools Show 2013 will be taking place at Battersea Evolution this weekend, from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, and from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday. There will be over 175 schools present, including 30 pre-prep and nursery schools.

Clapham Opera Festival

The penultimate performance of the Clapham Opera Festival will take place this Sunday at 3pm at The Church of the Holy Spirit in Narbonne Avenue. Sunday’s show will focus on19th and early 20th century music, with a selection of humorous arias from comic operas and operettas.
