Pimlico residents may benefit from 'expanded' car club initiative

Pimlico residents may benefit from 'expanded' car club initiative

Property news for Kensington, Chelsea and Pimlico | 30 Oct 2009

People living in Pimlico and other areas of the Westminster borough could be set to benefit from an extension to the local council's car club scheme.

Westminster's council initiative, which aims to offer pay-as-you-go transport options to its members, will be expanded to include vans in the near future.

It is also hoped delivery vehicles will be made available to people in the coming months.

The organisation's city management cabinet member councillor Danny Chalkley commented that the body's car club scheme has been designed with the environment in mind.

He said: "Introducing vans to our fleet will now give everyone from individual residents to small businesses the opportunity to use delivery vehicles without having to worry about the costs involved in owning the vehicle."

Westminster Council has also recently warned that large increases in the business rates faced by London firms could jeopardise the financial futures of some.ADNFCR-2151-ID-19435914-ADNFCR
